Patricia McCoy - Co founder of WAWELA completes her final round of radiation, but still had many surgeries to face, double mastectomy, oopherectomy and reconstructive surgery.
Brenda Johnson - Wawela's VP spearheading our first POP campaign with Brighton Collectibles
Brighton’s Power of Pink limited edition bracelets, leather goods and accessories support breast cancer research and awareness. A portion of each purchase will go towards breast cancer treatment, prevention and research through donations to local and national charities. Each Brighton Collectibles store has partnered with a local charity, making this a true community-supported event.
Even though Patricia McCoy had her own battles to face, she realized that there were others who were worse off then her. She and her sisters Deborah Harris and Brenda Johnson would make their rounds after her radiation treatments were completed.
After Patricia would complete her treatments for radiation she noticed many women were waiting endless hours for transportation after their treatment was completed. So she would use her personal truck to transport patients from their homes to their appointments.
We couldn't believe some of the hardships many patients undergoing treatment had to face , until we were challenged to help this young lady who was living in unacceptable living conditions. She just fell on hard times and had to make the best with what she had.
