About Us

Over 11 million people in the U.S. have been diagnosed with cancer and it is one of the five most costly medical conditions. This forces many patients to make decisions about their health care and cancer treatment based on finances not on what is best for their health,"  Dr. Richy Agajanian, M.D. of the Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation.

WAWELA Cancer support offers financial assistance to cancer patients who are undergoing treatment and in need of immediate financial assistance.

  • Utilities
  • Transportation/gas voucher
  • Emergency food
  • Prescription Copay

All funding is provided by the donations of  local business and our community. Please help spread the word by sharing our website and our mission with others.

Transportation & Emergency Food

Many times patients cancel much needed appointments due to lack of transportation. Without transportation or support many go hungry or lack the proper food and nutrition that is needed to help build their immune system during treatments

Special Getaway

Many of our meet ups include healthy meal planning along with juicing of natural fruits and vegetables. A simple retreat or getaway is a great way to reconnect with nature and rebalance the body.

"Only 5–10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90–95% have their roots in the environment and lifestyle. The lifestyle factors include cigarette smoking, diet (fried foods, red meat), alcohol, sun exposure, environmental pollutants, infections, stress, obesity, and physical inactivity. The evidence indicates that of all cancer-related deaths, almost 25–30% are due to tobacco, as many as 30–35% are linked to diet, about 15–20% are due to infections, and the remaining percentage are due to other factors like radiation, stress, physical activity, environmental pollutants etc.

Providing Hope

Celebration of life and support.

WAWELA goes the extra mile in delivering hope. We want our donors to see where their donations are going so we host annual celebrations to honor and recognize men and women who are fighting to survive.

Sometime a simple hug sprinkled with love can go a long way, we also realize that a simple act of kindness goes even further.
