WAWELA Cancer support offers financial assistance to cancer patients who are undergoing treatment and in need of immediate financial assistance.

Transportation & Emergency Food
Many times patients cancel much needed appointments due to lack of transportation. Without transportation or support many go hungry or lack the proper food and nutrition that is needed to help build their immune system during treatments

Many of our meet ups include healthy meal planning along with juicing of natural fruits and vegetables. A simple retreat or getaway is a great way to reconnect with nature and rebalance the body.
"Only 5–10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90–95% have their roots in the environment and lifestyle. The lifestyle factors include cigarette smoking, diet (fried foods, red meat), alcohol, sun exposure, environmental pollutants, infections, stress, obesity, and physical inactivity. The evidence indicates that of all cancer-related deaths, almost 25–30% are due to tobacco, as many as 30–35% are linked to diet, about 15–20% are due to infections, and the remaining percentage are due to other factors like radiation, stress, physical activity, environmental pollutants etc.

Although we are not always able to provide temporary shelter there are times when funding is available and local business are willing to negotiate affordable offers, that we are able to cater to extreme cases such as being homeless while battling cancer.

When permitted WAWELA Cancer Support has delivered special Mothers Day Care packages for women who are caring for their child at Children's Medical Center. We want these mother's to know that WAWELA Cares.
